The Spam Folder is a great tool at your disposal for protecting your network from spammy content. This tool checks a post for content our spam classification system considers spammy, and if it looks spammy, we mark it as such, and place it in a special administrative folder for you. You can view this folder by clicking on the green administrative toolbar and clicking on the content management icon. This will take you to your network’s Content Management panel. Click on the “Spam Folder” link to see content we’ve marked as spammy.
To manage this folder’s content, you can do one of three things:
- Mark content that’s ended up here as “Not Spam”, which will remove it from the Spam Folder and add it to the network.
- Mark content as “Spam” and delete the content.
- Mark content as “Spam,” delete the content and suspend the member.
Content in this folder will not be visible to members on the network. When someone posts content that looks suspicious to Ning, they’ll see a warning message that we’ve marked this post as spam until a moderator approves it. Their post also won’t be visible to others and won’t show up in the listing page for the feature they tried to add content to.
The Spam Folder is accessible to the Network Creator and any administrators you’ve appointed on the network.
