LightNing is a stand-alone product developed by NING. These are the general regulations and rules of use applying to the LightNing service package. The rules are valid for all users of the product and regulate the working relationship between NING and its customers. Please find the details below.
Package Description
Free
A basic plan with essential functionality for your network. Share articles, photos and audio files, communicate with your members via chats or create polls to know their opinion - all these features are included in our Free plan with an option to add even more with purchasable Add-ons.
Please notice that You are not allowed to change from a standard NING package to a Free package.You will only be able to switch between Free package or Light package. You will not be able to switch from a Basic, Performance and Ultimate package to a FREE/LIGHT package or vice versa.

If you exceeded the fixed limit you may be offered an upgrade for a Light package at price here or pay an additional fee for limit excess. Your account may be suspended or canceled in case you do not pay fees for limit excess or refuse to be upgraded to a new package. Such suspension or cancellation will be at our sole discretion. Please contact our support team in case you have any questions.

We may revise package description and conditions of use occasionally. We will let you know about changes on our website, via email or with a notice sent to your account before the changes go into effect. Light package includes a domain name in the price. You will be able to use the domain/domains by contacting our support team [support@ning.com]. Please note, that all domains are owned by NING. For more information please refer to our Terms of Services Section 22 or contact our support team.
One-month subscription: Recurring monthly fee payments are applied to a Light package, until terminated by the user. Subscription may be terminated at any time. First - month fee is not refundable in case you ordered our “free domain” service.
Annual subscription: Recurring annual payments until terminated by the user. Subscription may be terminated at any time. No refunds for the first subscription month will be provided. Refunds for the remaining months will be provided partially with the deduction of the amount of the domain price at our sole discretion.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
You are not entitled to a refund of domain name price if it was included in your package or was purchased additionally. All refund issues are considered on a case-by-case basis by our support team. For information about refunds please refer to our Refund and Billing Policy. You can switch back to NingFree package from NingLight if the limits have not been excessed.
ADD-ONS
For each NingLight plan* you can activate additional functionality, by buying NING Add-ons. Add-on is an additional feature, not included in your plan and can be activated without plan upgrade, at a separate price**. If you exceed your package limits you will be offered an upgrade to your package as an option.
You can choose monthly or annual subscription for the add-on. Subscription will be automatically prolonged at the beginning of each subscription period if you haven’t canceled it. You can cancel your subscription on the dashboard or by sending a request to support@ning.com
Please note that Add-one fee is not refundable. If you change or upgrade your Plan the add-ons purchased before will be automatically deactivated with no refund if such features are not included in a Package you are switching to.
*by NingLight plans we mean free and light plans. NING reserves the right to change Plans or add new ones occasionally. We will inform you not later than 14 days before any changes.
Some add-ons only have the annual subscription (like custom domain).
You can activate add-ons on the Network Dashboard link or during the package activation process.

Billing and Refund Policy

This document explains NING’s policies for NING Product Plans (which we sometimes refer to in this policy as “services”). More specifically, this policy describes when NING will issue a refund for services, as well as the process for requesting a refund. It’s a bit detailed, but we want to be transparent and fair on all billing matters.
1. Account Management
You can access and manage your NING billing account at any time by visiting www.ning.com. Sign in to:
- View or update your payment method (Please note that we currently only support one payment method at a time per NING account)
- Create a new NING Network
- View your balance
- Pay an outstanding balance
- View your billing and invoice history (All invoices must be accessed via Ning.com)
- Manage your services
Your NING billing account credentials may be different from your NING Network credentials.
2. Product Plans
Any Add-on subscription or product Plan that you chose becomes effective immediately after the purchase. When you select the annual subscription, you pay for one year (12 months of service) at a discounted fee, which is less than the equivalent of 10 months of service if you subscribed on a monthly basis.

3. Billing
We offer monthly and annual subscriptions for certain services and packages. You’re automatically charged in accordance with the chosen subscription method: once a month if you select a monthly subscription and once a year if you select an annual subscription. You can update your billing information, change your subscription from monthly to annual billing or contact us to cancel your subscription at any time. For those services that are subject to a one-time (or non-recurring) fee, you’ll be charged at the time of the order.
4. Overdue Payment
If a charge to the payment method on your NING account is declined, we may make additional attempts to process the payment. If payment continues to fail, the Add-on feature this payment is due for will be disabled until the subscription is renewed. To avoid this:
- Verify that your bank account is sufficiently funded
- Make sure your credit card or PayPal information on file with NING is up to date
- Contact your bank or credit card provider to approve payments to NING
- Confirm your billing agreement is valid (PayPal users only)

In addition, we offer you the ability to make an instant payment for any Add-ons that we were unable to receive a regular payment for. Visit your network Dashboard for Add-on management options.

5. Plan and Billing Frequency Changes
We may revise package description and conditions of use occasionally. We may also revise current limits or add new limits of which you will be timely informed
Cancellations
If you cancel your services, your cancellation will take effect in your next billing cycle. This means we won’t be able to refund you for any unused portion of your services. For example, you chose a monthly subscription of NING Performance on July 1. On December 1, your credit card is charged as usual. On December 12, you decide to cancel your NING Network. No further charges will be made to your credit card, but you will not receive a refund for the period of December 13 through December 31. This cancellation policy applies whether you’ve chosen a monthly or annual subscription plan or an Add-on subscription.
6. Refunds
Items eligible for a refund will be issued to the method of original payment.
You are not entitled to a refund of domain name price if it was included in your package or was purchased by you additionally. In case you purchased a domain name using our ‘free domain’ services please note that the first month fee is not refundable.
Please refer to our Terms of Service and your package description.
7. Timing
It may take up to a few days for NING to process your cancellation or plan change, but all cancellations and changes will be applied as of the date that NING receives your request.
8. Policy Changes
NING may periodically amend this policy for any reason. Please review this policy periodically.
