Joining a group is a great way to get started on a Ning Network and to meet new people. You can browse existing groups on a network by “Most Active,” “Latest Activity,” “Most Members” or “Newest”. Once you find an interesting group, click on its title to view it. To join an existing group, go to the group’s detail page.
If the group is public, there will be a link in the top right of the page to join the group.
If the group is private, you can apply to join the group from the group’s page if its creator is accepting access requests.
For some private groups, you may still be able to join if you have a friend who is a member and is also able to send you an invitation.
If the group is not open to new members, you may not be able to join.
Paid Access Groups
Paid Access groups are those which have been placed behind a paywall and require a membership fee in order to access the content. If the group you are trying to join is public but behind a paywall, you will need to pay whatever fee the Network Creator has set, before being able to participate in that group.
If the group has member moderation turned on and also requires a membership fee, you will need to be approved before you are asked to pay the membership fee. At this point, you can decide to continue or not.
