Beyond just adding a new Theme and Layout, the Design Studio allows you to easily customize the look and feel of your Ning Network. To get started, click the Design Studio icon in the network bar, then click the “Customize” menu.
You’ll notice there are several different sections to play with. Each section controls the appearance of a different part of your network:
- General: This section lets you modify body & heading text, as well as page and canvas backgrounds and borders.
- Header: The Header section is where you can adjust your network name and tagline’s font styles, and where to go to add your network logo image and header background.
The network logo refers to your header image. Adding a network logo image will remove your tagline automatically. You can additionally add a background image to your network name or logo. - Navigation: The Navigation section includes options for adding text, background, hover options and navigation tab background images.
- Tabs: Change the default colors of the text and background of tabs and sub-tabs, as well as the colors these values change to when moused over.
- Links & Buttons: This section allows for button, link, and icon customizations.
- Modules: Head to this area to change your module body and header font styles, colors, borders and backgrounds.
- Footer: This section lets you add images, borders, backgrounds and font colors in the bottom of your network
- Media Player: Use the Media Player section to adjust your Badge, Music and Video Players’ text, player and playlist colors and add a watermark to your embedded Media Players.
For additional customizations, you can add CSS to the Advanced panel, or, if you are a designer and want to build from scratch, you can switch over to the Developer Mode.
Please note that any customizations made in Developer Mode do not apply while in regular mode, nor do customizations you make to your network in the regular mode apply when using Developer Mode.
