Activating the Paid Access feature allows you to create Paywalls to charge members for network membership, groups or pages. To get started, click “Paid Access” under Settings on your network’s Dashboard, followed by the large orange “Activate Now” button. If you would like to first learn a bit more about Paid Access, you can click the “Learn More” link where you can get more in-depth information about the feature and even download a PDF with best practices.
The Paid Access feature is tied to your billing account, so the currency you are set up to pay for your network subscription in is the currency which your members will be charged for any Paid Access membership fees in. The currently supported currencies are the USD, GBP, Euro, Australian Dollar and the Mexican Peso.
Please note that if your billing account is set up in another currency, you will not be able to use this feature.
To get started, click “Activate Now.”
Once clicking “Activate Now,” you will be prompted to verify your payment method that we have on file. You will be charged the monthly fee for the Paid Access feature just like a monthly subscription for a Ning Network. Payments will align with your monthly bill date and be charged to the same payment method used to pay for your network subscriptions. If you would like to update your payment method that is used for all Ning payments, click “Edit” to be taken to Ning.com. Click the “Activate” button to confirm your payment method.
You’ve now activated the Paid Access feature! But there’s a bit more set up. You will need to verify a PayPal account so that you can collect payments for the Paywalls you set up. To continue, click “Get Started” in the lightbox that confirms Paid Access is now activated to verify your PayPal account.
Enter your first name, last name and the email address associated with your PayPal account and click “Validate.” If you don’t already have a PayPal account, you can learn how to set up a PayPal account here.
Once you set up a PayPal account, return to your network and click “Paid Access” under Settings on your network’s Dashboard to pick up where you left off.
Once you validate your PayPal account, you will be taken to the Paid Access manage page on your network where you can create and manage paywalls for network membership, groups, and pages.
